A Dietitian’s Favorite Food Products of 2024
In all of my sessions I recommend the same food products. Why? Because I eat them, they are delicious and nutritious! I no longer want to gate-keep these food products. So here they are: my top 8 dietitian recommended food products you must try!
Perfect bars
- These bars are a staple in my diet. I love them because they are balanced bars. What I mean by this is that they have a perfect balance of protein, carbs, and fat which is vital to keeping you full and satisfied. Pair these bars with cold coffee and a piece of fruit for a delicious and filling breakfast or have it on its own for a nourishing snack.
Banza Pasta
- Again, another staple in my diet. There are some nights I just don’t feel like cooking or nights where I simply just want pasta. If you’re like me, Banza pasta is the answer for you. I love this gluten-free, protein packed, and nutrient dense pasta. Pair with veggies and a sauce of choice (I love adding homemade cashew cheese) for a filling and hot dinner that only takes 10 minutes.
LiquidIV
- I cannot stress the importance of hydration enough, especially if you live in Florida. Drinking plain water may not properly hydrate your body. Have you ever had the feeling of drinking a ton of water but still not feeling hydrated? This means your body needs help absorbing the water! LiquidIV is tasty and effective. Drink this after a sweaty workout, on a hot day, or daily to ensure proper hydration!
Go Macro Bars
- These have to be my favorite protein bars of all time. Just like Perfect Bars, they are balanced in macros (hence the name of the bar) and have an excellent source of protein. Unlike other protein bars that taste chalky and are so unsatisfying, Go Macro bars have a delicious taste and actually give your body the energy it needs.
Kodiak Cake
- When you’re in a hurry and need protein, Kodiak cake bars, cups, and waffles are a go to. Know that these items alone may not be enough to satisfy your body with the energy it needs. I typically recommend to pair these items with fruit, nut butter, eggs, or any other food item to ensure adequate energy intake. These items are a delicious addition for breakfast or to have it on its own for dessert.
Dave’s Killer Bread
- This bread has all the hype right now, and for a good reason! Packed with nutrition and protein while still tasting delicious, this bread is perfect for sandwiches, peanut butter toast, or avocado toast. Don’t like wheat or grain bread? No problem! Dave’s Killer bread has a line of white bread called White Done Right that tastes amazing!
Goodles Mac and Cheese
- I love mac and cheese, and when I say love I mean LOVE. The struggle I always had with mac and cheese though was that I would eat a box and still be hungry! This is because it simply didn’t have enough protein. This new brand of protein dense mac and cheese is my new staple. Filled with protein from wheat, peas, and chickpeas, there is a whopping 14g of protein per serving. This will give you that full, satisfying, and comforting feeling that mac and cheese should provide!
Caulipower Pizza
- Now I’m not usually one to like or recommend food alternatives like a cauliflower pizza crust but this one is an exception. I don’t really know what it is about this pizza made with cauliflower crust, which is gluten free, but it is so good! And the best part, it has protein! Whether you are gluten free or not, I highly recommend this pizza, you won’t be disappointed!
Well there you have it: my top 8 food product recommendations for 2024. Try them out and let us know how you like them! I hope these food items can be easy, convenient and satisfying options for you to incorporate in your daily life to make eating just a bit easier.
